Gold Recovery Plant
The project aims to produce approximately 443 kg of gold bullion annually with a purity of 99%. The Madofti Gold Mine is located 100 km southeast of Zahedan and approximately 7 km northwest of Taftan in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
Since most of the country’s gold demand is currently met through imports, improving production technology can enable more efficient utilization of domestic gold reserves and increase the purity of locally produced gold. Pars Tamin Mining Development Company, equipped with advanced technology, has the capability to efficiently exploit the high-grade gold resources in Taftan, Sistan and Baluchestan. This project is aligned with the industry’s medium-term objectives and will contribute to economic growth and employment in the region.
Construction of the gold recovery unit began in March 2022 and, allowing for unforeseen delays, gold production was scheduled to begin in the second half of 2023. The plant operates at 80% of capacity during the first year and 100% from the second year onward.
The project’s final product is gold bullion, recovered from gold ore through a proven industrial process.
The availability of suitable mineral reserves and the ability to exploit them using modern technology and international standards will increase productivity and value creation in this sector. Given Iran’s position in global gold consumption, the project can also help reduce imports and foreign currency outflows.
The project will create numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities and provide better conditions for investment in related industries. This will help reduce unemployment, stimulate market demand, and reduce income-related risks in the region.
In addition to strengthening local self-reliance and indirectly encouraging innovation and the adoption of new technologies, the project will contribute to economic development in the region.

Stone Paper Plant – Blowing Technology
Given the country’s abundant limestone resources, stone paper production can provide a suitable alternative to conventional paper production and reduce tree cutting. Stone paper is a sustainable product, and its abundant raw materials make it more cost-effective than imported wood, particularly in Iran and Ilam Province. It can also create opportunities for sustainable production and employment. The main raw material is calcium carbonate, accounting for approximately 60–80% of stone paper and sourced from abundant natural mineral deposits.
In response to the growing demand for clean and environmentally friendly products, stone paper (cellulose-free paper) was first produced in Canada approximately 15 years ago and has been part of the global economic cycle for about 10 years. Vancouver Island, Canada, is considered the birthplace of stone paper, developed partly to prevent deforestation and preserve oxygen levels in the atmosphere.
The Ilam Stone Paper Plant is the first stone paper plant in Iran using Blowing technology, with an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons. The plant was established on a 28,000-square-meter site in Sarableh Industrial Town, Ilam Province.
The required raw materials for stone paper production are micronized calcium carbonate powder and polyethylene, both of which can be supplied by domestic suppliers.
The target market for the Ilam Stone Paper Plant includes writing paper, notebooks, and similar products. Its key advantages include water resistance, non-flammability, greater strength than cellulose-based papers, reduced dependence on forest resources, 100% recyclability, reduced paper imports and foreign currency outflows, and export potential.
The production thickness range is 60 to 4,000 microns, with a basis weight of 80 to 400 g/m².
