On Financial Transparency, Sustainable Development, and Public Interest in the Taftan Gold Mine and Factory

In response to public questions and concerns about how resources from the gold mine and factory activities in the Taftan region are spent,

Pars Tamin Company, as the executor and operator of this national project, considers itself obligated to explain the economic and social details of this activity to the public with complete transparency and based on actual performance.

🔷 Ownership Structure and National Status of the Project

The Taftan Gold Mine and Factory operates under the management of Pars Tamin Company and in the ownership chain of Sadr Tamin Holding and Shasta Investment Company (Social Security).

Shasta is the economic arm of the Social Security Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran;

An organization that is responsible for paying the salaries of pensioners, insured workers, and the disabled throughout the country.

Therefore, this complex is neither personal property, nor a private project, nor does it belong to a specific group,

but is considered part of the national capital of Iranian workers and the public property of the people of the country.

🔷 Geographical location and clarification about the name “Taftan”

The name “Taftan” in the project title was chosen because of its symbolic value and national position in the minds of the Iranian people,

not in the sense of mining activity on Taftan Mountain or its geographical area.

The fact is that the extraction and industrial activity site of Pars Tamin Company is at least 20 kilometers away by air and more than 40 kilometers away by land from Taftan Mountain.

This distance clearly indicates that no mining, explosive or industrial operations are carried out on the slopes or in the area of ​​Taftan Mountain.

Unfortunately, some individuals or movements, intentionally or through lack of knowledge, have used the name “Taftan” to project and create a false mentality in public opinion,

in a way that suggests that mining activities have destroyed Taftan Mountain or damaged its ecosystem.

This claim is completely false.

All operating areas of Pars Tamin Company are located outside the natural, cultural and environmental boundaries of Taftan Mountain, and all permits, assessments and environmental monitoring have been obtained and approved by official government agencies.

The name “Taftan” for this project is a symbol of the zeal, perseverance and spirit of the people of the region,

not a sign of the location of the extraction.

🔷 Volume of investment and local employment

In the implementation of this major project, more than 2 trillion tomans of direct investment have been made so far

which has led to the creation of more than 500 sustainable job opportunities for local workers in the region.

In the ongoing development plan, Pars Tamin Company is investing more than 2 trillion Tomans

which, when fully utilized, will create about 400 new job opportunities in the region.

This volume of investment and job creation reflects the company’s trust in the human, natural and social capacities of the region and its commitment to national policies of balanced development.

🔷 Completely legal and transparent production and sales process

All stages of gold extraction, processing and sale in this project are carried out within the country and under full governmental supervision:

Extraction of gold ore from the mine

Complete processing using the tank leaching method

Production of bullion with a purity of 99.99%

Exclusive sale of bullion only through the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Thus, there is no legal or physical possibility for even a single gram of gold to be illegally withdrawn from the official route.

All stages are registered and carried out under the supervision of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance and the country’s regulatory organizations.

🔷 Human Capital and Social Transformation

One of the most important and lasting achievements of the project is investing in local human resources.

A significant portion of the project’s managers, supervisors, and technical experts are residents of Taftan and Mirjaveh counties.

Many of these people previously had no stable jobs or had informal jobs, but with heavy training and skill costs, they have today become the country’s top performers in the field of gold processing and production.

The result of this transformation is not only employment; it is also an increase in self-esteem, hope, and a tangible reduction in social harm in the region.

Official statistics from the districts show that with the growth of employment and industrial development,

the unemployment rate, migration, and social harm in the two counties of Taftan and Mirjaveh have decreased significantly.

In addition, today all students in the region benefit from safe school services

and hundreds of girls who have dropped out of school have returned to school.

🔷 Development and Social Responsibility

The impact of this project is not only in industry and employment, but also in the development of vital infrastructure in the region is quite tangible.

According to official statistics from the relevant districts:

So far, more than 70 kilometers of rural roads have been constructed and improved by Pars Tamin Company.

More than hundreds of aqueducts and springs in the dredging area have been restored and reconstructed.

The total costs incurred in these development and infrastructure projects have exceeded 100 billion Tomans.

This is while the total annual development budget of the two counties of Taftan and Mirjaveh in these areas is less than 10 billion Tomans.

Thus, the activities of Pars Tamin Company are in practice equivalent to ten times the official development budget of the region,

leading to development, facilitating transportation, and improving the quality of life in the villages.

🔷 Financial flow and return of capital to the region

The money from the sale of ingots is directly deposited into the company’s official accounts and then spent in accordance with the law on the following:

Payment of taxes and government salaries to the national treasury

Insurance and salaries of local employees

Payment to local contractors and suppliers

Purchase of fuel, parts, materials and services from the regional market

As a result, the bulk of the project’s turnover is spent in the same region and contributes to the growth of the local economy, Prosperity of guilds and The livelihood of local households.

In the first six months of this year, the company has earned about 100 billion tomans in net profit;

But the volume of investment, development and social costs made in the region has been several times this profit.

This shows that not only is no profit leaving the region, but many times it is returning to the region.

The name “Taftan” in this project is reminiscent of a mountain that symbolizes the perseverance and zeal of the people of this land;

But our activities are not carried out on the slopes of that mountain, but at a safe and legal distance from it.

We used the name Taftan to celebrate the spirit of the people of the region,

Not to exploit its soil or nature.

Taftan is a national and cultural symbol for us, not a place of extraction.

And today, our pride is that under its name, we have spread hope, work and prosperity, not destruction and harm.

Every kilometer of road we have built, every spring we have revived, and every smile that has returned to the face of a child of this land,

is a testament to the fact that gold mining does not just make gold; it makes life.

We believe in our path, a path that passes through the hearts of the people and reaches the future of Iran.

Relying on God and the trust of the people, Pars Tamin will remain steadfast on the path of work, honesty, and sustainable development of Sistan and Baluchestan.

To those who ignore or marginalize the value of this great movement, we do not respond with numbers, we respond with impact.

An impact that can be seen in the faces of local engineers and workers, in the smile of a child going to school, and in the peace of a village that today has a road.
